Phillip Phillips opened up for the
Goo Goo Dolls during the band’s “Long Way Home” tour at Syracuse’s Lake View
Amphitheater August 11.
Prior to his on-stage concert, he met
with 70 of his fans: answered questions, took photos, sang a few of his song acoustic
and a cover of Usher’s “Burn”.
At the start of the show, Phillips opened
up with his single, “Raging Fire”, from his latest album, “Behind The Light”. The
record debuted on the Billboard 200 at Number seven and has sold over 123,000
copies since its release.
“I have been a fan of Phillip
Phillips since he first appeared on American Idol,” said Kaitlyn McDermott. “I
feel like his music continues to get better and better.”
He also performed his singles, “Home”
and “Gone, Gone, Gone,” from his first album, “The World from the Side of the
Moon.” From his upcoming third release called “Collateral” he played two new
tracks, “Miles” and “Magnetic,” for the first time in public.
“My favorite song to perform
changes all the time, but I would have to say my new favorite song to play live
is my latest single Miles,” said Phillips.
This was the artist second show in
Syracuse, he first took the stage in October 2012 at the Syracuse Carrier Dome during
the One World Concert after winning American Idol Season 11 in May.
Before taking the stage at the
Lakeview Amphitheater and American Idol, Phillips started learning guitar and
singing at the age of 14 and formed the Phillip Phillips Band at 18, according
